FOR's part two...

A CICS FOR was created this week to help establish a easy way to control the access to a set of VSAM files being used by 60 CICS regions. Sure, there is some overhead of shipping a VSAM request across the the ether to another CICS region, but the gains will out way the overhead. All the LSR Pools can be tailored just for these VSAM files, which may increase the efficency and offset the overhead. Since the VSAM files are now in just one CICS region, if they need to be open/closeed, it can be done only once and all 60 CICS regions will benefit in a very short time period. This could take 30 to 45 minutes for all 60.
